Brad Womack and Emily Maynard, the couple who got engaged during the 15th season of 'The Bachelor', have decided to end their relationship. Although it was Maynard who confirmed the split, Brad has since issued a statement blaming himself for the relationship breakdown, reports People Magazine.
After taping an interview for a segment of 'The Bachelorette', Maynard confirmed the news, saying, "We're no longer engaged". Womack didn't participate in the interview, but later issued a statement claiming, "the demise of our relationship was completely my fault". Womack proposed to the 25-year-old single mother during the season finale of 'The Bachelor' in March. Speculation of a split first emerged in May, when Maynard was spotted without her engagement ring. Despite Womack's insistence that he is to blame for the failed relationship, his former fiance disagrees, saying, "Just because we love each other doesn't mean we're right for each other". By announcing the break-up Emily said she hoped to put an end to "all the media speculation" so that she and her 6-year-old daughter Ricki "can move on and get back to normal".
During his first stint on 'The Bachelor' in 2007, Brad Womack stunned audiences by choosing not to propose to either of the two finalists, making him one of the most "hated" contestants in the show's history.
