Brad Pitt's grandmother is adamant his recent split from wife JENNIFER ANISTON is just temporary.

The movie hunk separated from the FRIENDS star last month (JAN05) after four-and-a-half years of marriage, but Pitt's gran BETTY RUSSELL is convinced Hollywood's former golden couple are only on a trial separation and will re-kindle their romance.

She says, "I'm sure this is just a temporary thing.

"Brad and Jennifer are beautiful people. They've always been so happy.

"It was like a bolt from the blue when he called to say they were separating. I was shocked.

"They are both precious and have too much love to throw it all away. They just need to spend a little time apart before they realise how much they miss each other."
