Brad Pitt's Chanel No.5 advertisement has divided opinions, from being like a ''parody'' to ''better than 'Gangnam Style'''.

Since it was announced earlier this year that Brad would be the first ever male to be the face of the fragrance the unusual decision had the beauty and media industry buzzing, and after being unveiled on Monday (15.10.12) the comments have flooded in.

The video - which sees Brad brooding over the iconic perfume and calling it: ''My luck; my fate; my fortune, Chanel No.5, inevitable.'' - caused to comment: ''If you didn't know it was a commercial for Chanel No. 5, you might think it was just a PSA alerting you of Brad Pitt, or perhaps a tourism commercial in the form of a love letter to the universe, designed to lure travelers from alternate universes.''

A couple of YouTube viewers made even harsher comments, with one posting: ''I thought this WAS the SNL parody (sic)''. And another said: ''That was like watching a bad read in an audition for an indie film.''

It would seem these individuals are not happy about him taking over from Audrey Tautou, Nicole Kidman and Vanessa Paradis but others see it in a more positive light and describe the clip as ''even better'' than South Korean song 'Gangnam Style'.

Chanel fragrance expert Joanna Norman describes the new move as ''a massive coup'' for the house.
