Country star Brad Paisley is spearheading a new campaign to help fund music education programmes by auctioning off an autographed car.
Paisley and a slew of other hitmakers, including Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, will take a moment to make their mark before walking the red carpet at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday (09Nov11) and the prized Chevrolet vehicle will then go under the hammer in December (11) to support the cause.
During an appearance on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Tuesday (08Nov11), Paisley said, "The Cma and Chevrolet have partnered up to help music education in schools, which is very important... It's something that can make a kid into what they want to be. I think about my life as a musician, I would have nothing without it."
The singer then had the honour of becoming the first to sign the hood of the silver automobile with a large marker pen, writing 'Drive Fast'.
He joked, "For those of you watching at home, wanting to win this car, this (signature) will come off. This is one of those times where this is actually going to devalue this car."
