The Celebrity singer paid tribute to his idol at the Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Sunday (16Oct16), before Travis stunned the audience by singing Amazing Grace - his first performance since suffering a debilitating stroke in July, 2013, that robbed him of his voice.

Paisley, who performed Forever and Ever, Amen in tribute to Travis, admits he was deeply moved when the singer took the stage and sang.

"I'm still reeling from what I witnessed Sunday night," Brad wrote on Facebook. "He (Travis) very simply took the mic and led the room in Amazing Grace. It was nothing short of miraculous. Randy has endured so much, battling back from viral cardiomyopathy and a stroke, and it speaks volumes about his spirit and faith.

"Although most of you weren’t there for this, I can't wait to honour him again, this time in front of the nation at the CMAs in a few weeks. All of us are working to make this year the best it’s ever been. Legends like Randy deserve it. God bless country music. I’m so proud to be a part of it."

The 50th Country Music Association Awards will take place in Nashville, Tennessee on 2 November (16).
