Georgia rap group Boyz N Da Hood were determined to continue as a trio following the departure of bandmember Young Jeezy, until they met new member Gorilla Zoe. Young Jeezy, real name Jay Jenkins, enjoyed success with his third solo album Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 in 2005 - just a month after Boyz N Da Hood's eponymous debut disc hit the stores. Group member LEE 'DUKE' DIXON says, "Honestly, we didn't even want another member, but like he said, he just got in where he fit in. "Jeezy had a one album deal with us. He had already had a solo situation with Def Jam and he used it to launch his career and that's what it did. We all have different elements that we bring to the group and Jeezy had his own element too. But we just doing it with us four now." New member Gorilla Zoe adds, "I kind of just got in where I fit in. We all just came together."
