Eighties pop star Boy George has hit out at critics of the Broadway production of his musical TABOO - insisting the flop show has "never been embarrassing".
The production - which was a hit in London's West End before talk show host ROSIE O'DONNELL took it to New York last November (03) - will close on Broadway next month (8FEB04) after struggling to sell seats.
Taboo has also been dogged by reports of rows between George and producer O'Donnell - but the former CULTURE CLUB star insists reports of the shows demise have been blown out of proportion.
He says, "One of the excuses offered by the production team for ending the run was the huge costs.
"We have had fabulous crowds, not always packed houses, but it has never been embarrassing.
"Now, as we are closing, it is being reported as a disaster by the media."26/01/2004 17:34
