The Karma Chameleon singer and his bandmates had a massive row before the gig and there was drama throughout the performance - and now George thinks Prince might not have been happy with their tribute to him in his hometown.

"We wanted to do a Prince tribute and we were doing Purple Rain and we had the biggest row about the arrangement; it was like a row from the 80s," he tells U.S. talk show host Harry Connick, Jr, "and I had to come back and say, 'I haven't done that since 1984 guys, I'm really sorry, I don't know what came over me.'

"I think Prince was messing with us because... at the end of the song everything broke; the entire sound system broke down. It was one of those weird nights."

Boy George admits touring now with Culture Club is a lot calmer than it used to be in the band's heyday.

"There's less chair throwing," he jokes. "Usually arguments now are about music."
