Teen rapper Bow Wow has slammed critics who claim he'll never maintain the success he had with debut album BEWARE OF DOG, accusing them of ignoring his maturity as an artist.

The singer, then a 13-year-old, became an overnight success with the 2000 record, but sees his ongoing adolescence as an opportunity to expand his musical range.

Bow Wow, now 16, says, "Everybody has to deal with my growing up, it's part of life.

"When you have kids you have to deal with them growing up and you can't quit on them because they are. My voice has changed and I'm getting a moustache.

"People are seeing a progression of Bow Wow, the growing up stage - as an artist too."
