The Boomtown Rats played a triumphant comeback show at Britain's Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday (16Jun13) before announcing they will tour the U.K. to promote a new 'best of' album.

Bob Geldof's band played its first major concert for 27 years by performing a hits-packed set on the final night of the four-day event.

Within hours of the gig, representatives for the I Don't Like Mondays hitmakers announced an 11-date tour of Britain. The trek, which kicks off in October (13), includes dates in London and Glasgow, Scotland and will follow the release of Back To Boomtown: Classic Rats' Hits in August (13), a compilation of the band's top tracks plus two new songs.

The Boomtown Rats played their first gig since splitting up in 1986 last week (07Jun13) at a small bar in West Sussex, England.
