Bono is still so shaken by the death of his father, he often forgets he died two years ago and tries to contact him.

The U2 frontman also confesses he has unwittingly assumed many of his dad BOB HEWSON's mannerisms since losing him to cancer at the age of 75.

Bono, who has put together art work for a new book and CD of children's classic PETER AND THE WOLF, says, "I wish I'd got to know him more. I just wish I had more time with him, because you get to understand yourself.

"A couple of times I've gone to call him and he wasn't there.

"I picked up the phone to ring the number and there was a sick feeling, but I know I'll see him again."
