Irish rocker Bono has been pictured back on his feet for the first time since undergoing extensive surgery following a bicycle crash in New York City.

The U2 singer fell off his bike in Central Park last month (Nov14), resulting in numerous fractures and breaks to his left arm, elbow, finger and eye socket.

He subsequently underwent a lengthy operation to insert three metal plates and 18 screws into his arm and missed the band's World Aids Day benefit concert in the Big Apple.

Bono's bandmate The Edge recently revealed his friend had been told to lie still for two months while his injuries healed, but the singer has now been pictured out and about in his native Dublin, Ireland just weeks after his surgery.

The photos, taken over the weekend (13-14Dec14), show Bono walking through town with a coat covering his injured arm.
