Blues singer Bonnie Raitt insists fans should differentiate between her music and her politics - because they can still be entertained by her even if they disagree with her beliefs. Raitt, a staunch human rights campaigner, famously appeared on various benefit shows for victims of Hurricane Katrina last year (05). But the NICK OF TIME singer knows some of her admirers wish she would "shut up" about social affairs. She says, "Some people think musicians should shut up, but I'm a citizen first and a musician second, and if someone asks me a question about what's important to me, I'm gonna say. "People have the option of not buying my records if they don't agree with my politics. But I don't shove it down people's throats. "A concert hall is a concert hall. You should be there to entertain people."
