Legendary Bond girl Honor Blackman has taken a swipe at her former co-star Sir Sean Connery for accepting a knighthood and backing Scottish independence while living abroad.

The actress, who played Pussy Galore in 1964 007 movie Goldfinger, once turned down the offer to be appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (Cbe).

Now she admits she is baffled why her former onscreen colleague accepted his honour from the British Establishment in 2000 while he lives overseas.

Blackman tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "I think they were quite shocked when I declined. But since I'm a republican I thought it would be somewhat hypocritical to pop up to (Buckingham) Palace.

"Not like Sean, who accepts a knighthood but never comes here... and supported a yes vote in the (Scottish independence) referendum. But I don't think he thinks deeply about politics."
