Latest Bond girl Eva Green has been nominated as the rising star of the year by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Baftas).
Starring as Treasury worker Vesper Lynd who steals Bond's heart in Casino Royale, Green has also won critical acclaim and public appeal with her acting ability and stunning looks.
She is currently working alongside Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig in The Golden Compass, the film adaptation of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials.
Green is one of five actors nominated for the Bafta award.
Emily Blunt and Naomie Harris are her competing females. Blunt most recently appeared as catty Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada while Harris appears in the Pirates Of The Caribbean triology.
Competing males are The Wind That Shakes the Barley star Cillian Murphy and Ben Wishaw of Perfume fame.
The five were chosen by a panel of industry experts and it is now up to the public who wins the award. People are able to text their choice and the winner will be announced at the Orange British Academy Film Awards on February 11th.
Last year's winner was James McAvoy, who has starred in numerous television dramas as well as appearing as the fawn Mr Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia.
