British rockers Bombay Bicycle Club will play the last ever gig at London's historic Earls Court venue next month (Dec14).

The arena in the west of the city, which opened in 1937, is to be torn down as part of a project to rejuvenate the local area despite a campaign to save it from the bulldozers, which was championed by Pet Shop Boys star Neil Tennant.

It has now emerged the final concert at the venue will take place on 13 December (14) and the honour goes to Bombay Bicycle Club.

Earls Court has previously hosted gigs by artists including Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd, and it was also used as a regular venue for the BRIT Awards.
