Olympic skier Bode Miller has agreed to share custody of his son with his ex-girlfriend in the latest development of their long-running legal battle.
The athlete has been locked in a bitter fight with his former partner Sara MCKenna ever since their tot was born in February, 2013, after she relocated from California to New York while pregnant so she could go back to school.
Miller demanded she move back to America's West Coast, where he is based with his new wife, Morgan Beck, so he could be close to his son, and he was awarded temporary custody last year (13).
He was dealt a blow in November (13), when a New York judge overturned the ruling and ordered him to hand over the infant to the kid's mother, and they were due to face off in Manhattan Family Court on Monday (21Apr14).
However, shortly before they were due in court, the two parties managed to strike a deal to spend equal time with the 14-month-old toddler over the next four months, when another hearing will be held to determine their next step.
The little boy is called Sam by his mother, but his father has named him Nate.
