Soul legend Bobby Womack has given Los Angeles' top street fair a big boost by signing on to co-headline.
The 67-year-old Across 110th Street hitmaker will join an eclectic Sunset Junction line-up including The Three Degrees, the Butthole Surfers and Hanson.
Womack will close the soul portion of the weekend festival on 28 August (11).
The soul star, dubbed the Soul Survivor, has an exciting few months ahead of him - he's relaunching his official website to feature audio commentary on his albums and his life.
Womack's career has enjoyed somewhat of a rebirth in recent years following his collaboration with Damon Albarn's group Gorillaz.
Sunset Junction will also be a big event for The Three Degrees, who only recently won the legal right to tour as The Three Degrees after years of legal wrangles.
The gig will be bittersweet for Prince Charles' one-time favourite group as it will be their first California show since the passing of founding member Fayette Pinkney in 2009.
It will also be Freddi Poole's first Los Angeles show with the trio, since she replaced Cynthia Garrison in the line-up in January (11).
No member of the current line-up was with The Three Degrees when they first started recording in the early 1960s, but singer Valerie Holiday has been a regular since the late 60s.
