Bobby Brown, the ex-husband of Whitney Houston, has been arrested in Los Angeles on driving under the influence charges (Dui). The New Edition singer failed a sobriety test at the scene after officers had pulled him over for allegedly driving while talking on his cell phone, reports MTV News.
Brown's car was stopped around 12.20pm on Monday (March 26, 2012), after which he was arrested and taken to Van Nuys prison before being released on $5,000 bail. It's not the first time Brown has run into trouble with the law for driving offences - back in 1996, he was convicted of Dui and spent eight days in jail. The 45-year-old singer's ex-wife Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel room in February. There was initial doubt as to whether Brown would be allowed to attend her funeral - given that her family have long accused him of influencing her with drink and drugs, but he was present at the ceremony in Newark. However, Brown left just minutes into the funeral after an alleged disagreement over seating arrangements - he was reportedly unhappy with not being able to sit with his daughter Bobbi Kristina.
The couple were married from 1992 to 2007 but their relationship was blighted by drug abuse and accusations of domestic violence.
