R&B singer Bobby Brown has been arrested in the US after failing to attend a child maintenance hearing.
The 38-year-old singer says he was unaware of the legal hearing regarding his two teenage children with ex-girlfriend Kim Ward, La Princia and Bobby Jr.
Reports say the estranged husband of soul diva Whitney Houston was arrested while watching his daughter perform in a cheerleading competition in Massachusetts on Sunday.
Appearing in court on Monday, Bobby was sentenced to 30 days in prison unless he pays the $20,000 (£10,205) he owes in child support to his former partner.
Former New Edition singer Bobby paid around $11,000 to Ms Ward in October but, according to her solicitor, continues to owe fees on that amount.
"Mr Brown has had a pattern of non-compliance," said the lawyer of Ms Ward, Linda Medonis, according to Reuters news agency.
And it doesn't seem like this will be the last time Bobby will be appearing in court.
Last October Bobby and Whitney's turbulent marriage of 14 years came to a close when The Bodyguard actress filed for divorce. Whitney, who has a teenage daughter with Bobby, attempted to "fast-track" the divorce earlier this month by requesting a default judgment.
