Bob Dylan has come clean about one of his most famous folk anthems - he stole the inspiration for THE TIMES ARE A-CHANGING from a traditional Scottish tune.

The rock icon has confessed the 1964 counterculture classic was directly influenced by HAMISH HENDERSON, a Scottish peace campaigner and poet.

Dylan says, "You use what's handed down. The Times They Are A Changin' is from an old Scottish folk song.

"I'll take a song I know and start playing it in my head. At a certain point, some of the words will change and I'll start writing a song."
