Fans of Bob Dylan are flocking to an online auction website to obtain a copy of his latest album after music bosses distributed just 100 copies worldwide.

Sony Music chiefs released a four-Cd compilation of early Dylan recordings, entitled The 50th Anniversary Collection, late last month (Dec12), and the limited edition discs were distributed to record shops in Germany, France, Sweden and Britain.

A few copies have appeared on online auction website eBay - and fans are paying hundreds of dollars for the chance to own the record.

It has been reported the album was released to keep the recordings under copyright protection in Europe. A new law extends copyright to 70 years, from the current 50, but tracks will not benefit from the rule change unless they were published before the 50-year term expired.
