Bob Barker, the former host of the hit game show 'The Price is Right, is recovering after collapsing at a shooting range in Los Angeles, reports The Epoch Times. However, the 86-year-old says he is fine, telling Access Hollywood, "My healthy young body has bounced back".
Barker has encountered a number of medical problems in recent years, in 2002 he suffered from a mild stroke, and had surgery to remove an enlarged prostate just weeks later - he has also suffered from mild skin cancer. The former television entertainer explained why he collapsed, saying, "Not enough water and it was awfully hot and I have a little hypertension. I take medicine for it and I was possibly taking too much and got my blood pressure too low."
In 2007, Barker retired from television, bringing to an end his role as host of 'The Price is Right' after 35 years of fronting the show - he was replaced by Drew Carey. Before presenting the popular family programme, Barker had hosted numerous other short lived game-shows such as 'End of the Rainbow', 'The Family Game', and 'Simon Says'. The 86-year-old has been a long-time supporter of animal rights, and is often involved in animal-rights activism.
