Blur frontman Damon Albarn became so inspired while touring America with the band last month (JUL03), he's written and recorded his own solo album.

The singer, who only recently wrapped and released the groups' new LP THINK TANK, doubts he'll be able to release the record because of his recording commitments with the band, but is nevertheless excited by his swift accomplishment.

Damon says, "I recorded it all on a four-track in America in hotel rooms - I'm really pleased with it. It sounds very American and I don't know why.

"I don't quite know how I'll put it out yet. I don't even know if I'll even be allowed to, so I'll have to wait and see. It's the lowest-fi record ever, it's not a commercial record."
