Blur drummer Dave Rowntree has started his own label to promote upcoming rockers via the internet.

The BEETLEBUM musician, 40, is a supporter of music downloading and is focusing on pushing up-and-coming band Wire Daisies to hit the big time using online technology.

Rowntree says, "Blur were one of the first bands to have a website, so I know the importance of the internet.

"Wire Daises are releasing an album next month (SEP04), first as a download, then as a commercial release.

"Their first EP, MAKE EVERYTHING CHANGE, has debuted at number 30 (in the UK singles chart), which is fantastic. I think their single, BUTTERFLY, will do even better."
