Blur drummer DAVE ROWNTREE will revive his political career as soon as the band's upcoming summer shows are over.
The percussionist launched himself into politics after the band split in in 2003, running for Britain's Labour Party at the country's local council elections in both 2007 and 2008.
And although the star lost on both occasions, he is determined not to give up his dream of becoming a member of parliament.
Rowntree - who recently graduated from law school - has now been selected to represent the party at the next U.K. general election, meaning he will return to his political duties after the band wrap up a string over concerts later this year (09).
