British rockers Blur have confirmed they will be reuniting for a one-off gig in London next summer (09).
The Britpop pioneers have been on hiatus since 2003, after guitarist Graham Coxon quit during the recording of the album Think Tank - but both he and frontman Damon Albarn recently hinted at a possible reunion.
The band announced its return on Tuesday (09Dec08), with Albarn telling NME.com, "It just felt it was right again. It somehow feels like there's something for us to do again, we're not completely useless or pointless, we've got a reason to exist."
The Parklife hitmakers will play a massive outdoor show at London's Hyde Park on 3 July (09). They are also rumoured to be considering a headline slot at next summer's (09) Glastonbury festival.
While the band refused to confirm any other shows, Albarn promised fans around the U.K. that they will be making more live appearances.
He adds, "We'll do something in London because that seems sensible. But we're also playing in other parts of the country working up to there."
