Blue star Antony Costa nearly cost the pop stars their place in this year's (11) Eurovision Song Contest after he was photographed urinating in a London street.
The One Love hitmakers have reformed following their 2004 split and are set to perform as the U.K.'s representatives at the upcoming singing competition in May (11).
But Costa was publicly shamed when a tabloid newspaper published pictures of the singer relieving himself against an Atm machine in the U.K. capital during a night out last month (Feb11).
He apologised for his offensive actions - and his Blue bandmate Duncan James has now revealed TV bosses at the Bbc threatened to replace them in the contest after Costa's indiscretion hit headlines.
He says, "It was a big wake-up all. After the incident we got called in and given the yellow card by the Bbc. If we muck up again we will be replaced. They told us, 'You boys are representing the U.K., you cannot be seen to be doing this kind of thing'."
Costa says, "I was just so disgusted with myself when I saw those pictures. I was nearly in tears because I did think I'd blown it for the lads and myself. If the lads had said, 'We can't go on,' I would have been absolutely devastated and would probably have just gone away for many a year."
Bandmate Simon Webbe adds, "It was kinda scary. We won't be taking any chances. This is just too important to us, to the Bbc and to the U.K."
The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Dusseldorf, Germany on 14 May (11).
