In what appeared to be a direct response to Netflix's plans to offer original programming on its streaming video service, rival Hulu said over the weekend that it plans to offer an original TV series, Battleground , on Feb. 14. The series is being made available to both users of its premium $7.99-per-month subscription service, Hulu Plus, as well as users of its basic free service, Hulu. Andy Forssell, chief content officer for Hulu, told Bloomberg News that the company also plans to raise capital so that it can acquire additional exclusive programming. "We have a very healthy business," Forssell told the business news service. "When you have a healthy business, capital is not a problem. There are plenty of people who want to help."
