Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry is convinced she'd by shunned by talent judges on reality TV show American Idol, because her voice isn't technically good enough.

The ATOMIC singer, 58, accepts her talents lie more in her songwriting ability and her stage presence than her singing skills - factors she knows would render her an inappropriate contestant on the hit programme.

She says, "Blondie would never pass a star search. The way I approach what I do is from a point of internal drive.

"I'm not a technical singer. My thing is about attitude.

"I've always worked as an ensemble. I'd be a complete failure on a show like that."
