Melodic punk legends Blondie and camp pop act Scissor Sisters are being lined up to headline this year's (31DEC04) Hogmanay New Year celebration in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Organisers of the world famous event - which 250,000 revellers regularly attend - are desperate to put on the best show ever this year after the massive anti-climax of having to cancel last year's (03) celebrations due to extreme weather conditions.

A source close to the HEART OF GLASS hitmakers confides, "Blondie have a long history of playing in Scotland going back 25 years. DEBBIE HARRY still remembers her night at the Glasgow Apollo when the balcony shook every time the band started a song because of the fans pogo dancing.

"If Blondie are to play Edinburgh this Hogmanay, I'm sure they will see it as an honour to help the Scots party."
