Rockers Blink-182 are racing to complete their comeback album by their summer (11) deadline after experiencing a creative boost towards the end of their recording sessions.
The reunited band is working on its first disc of new material since 2003 and singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge admits they will face a tough decision when it comes to choosing the final tracklisting - because they've come up with so many good songs so close to their 31 July (11) cut-off date.
DeLonge tells Rolling Stone magazine, "We thought we were closing in on the end, and literally a week ago we pumped out a whole set of stuff that I think will be some of the best on the album. Recording is never really finished. You slide or limp into home base."
And drummer Travis Barker can't wait to take the album on tour.
He says, "That's what we're most excited about. It's the first time there will be new music in nine years."
