Country star Blake Shelton turned family hero last week (09Jul07)when he confronted an intruder in his uncle's Oklahoma home.
Shelton and his mother dashed over to Dempsey Byrd's house after his frantic uncle called them to tell them there was "a big man" in his house.
The singer's mother, Dorothy Shackleford, says, "After looking through the window and seeing the intruder, Blake knocked on the door, and the man sort of stumbled over and opened it, and Blake said, `Hey, you're in my house, man.'"
Shelton then insisted the intoxicated intruder wait on the porch until police arrived, which he did.
The intruder, James Robert Gastineau, was later charged with first-degree burglary and public intoxication.
Shelton is now helping police with their enquiries.
