Country star Blake Shelton has sent his prayers to a fan who was left critically injured after a skiing accident.
Casey MCAbee suffered serious injuries after crashing into a tree while on the slopes in Buffalo, New York in January (16). The mother-of-one was placed in a medically-induced coma, and after four weeks, she regained consciousness.
Her sister, Tori Anderson, took to Twitter.com on Sunday to reveal how Casey has been making a remarkable recovery, and has even been able to sing along to her favourite Blake songs despite suffering throat issues, reports GossipCop.com.
She uploaded a video clip of Casey, and in the accompanying message, she wrote to Blake, "MIRACLE-After skiing into a tree, unresponsive 4wks (for weeks), w/ (with) TBI (traumatic brain injury), broken neck, fractured skull, eye socket, and pelvis. After failing her swallow test, not sure if she could sing, your CD played and she began to sing 'God Gave Me you.'"
"Before my sister's tragic skiing accident in Buffalo she bought us tickets for your concert on my bday 3/17/16," she added.
On Monday (07Mar16), Tori asked fans to help spread the word to try and catch Blake's attention so he "can see the magic within his music", and her wish soon came true.
Reaching out to Tori and Casey online, he responded, "Wow.... Incredible... Tell her hello from me. #prayers."
Tori replied, "I will! And when I do I know her face will light up with a smile. Thank you for being you."
Blake is all too familiar with family tragedy. He lost his older brother, Richie, in a car accident in Oklahoma on 13 November, 1990, when Blake was just 14.
Last year (15), the singer took to Twitter to mark the 25th anniversary of Richie's death with a touching tribute.
"Wow... 25 years ago today we lost my brother Richie Shelton," he wrote. "He's still my hero going strong. Wish everyone could've known him."
