Blake Lively says it's ''magical'' being the new face of L'Oreal Paris.

The 'Gossip Girl' actress was unveiled as the cosmetics giant's latest beauty ambassador in an Instagram post on Tuesday (29.10.13) and the blonde beauty was quick to express her delight at her new role.

The statement read: ''Exclusive announcement: We're excited to welcome the gorgeous and talented Blake Lively, our new ambassador for L'Oreal Paris! She's most definitely worth it!''

Blake will join gap-toothed model Lara Stone as one of the French brand's new recruits for next season, as well as an impressive array of A-list spokeswomen, including superstar Beyonce, actress Julianne Moore, model Doutzen Kroes and 'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria.

She told French Vogue after the announcement: ''It's an honour to join such a prestigious brand... and a family of such amazing ambassadors. They're not just beautiful: they're women with character, with power even. They sing, star in important films and aren't afraid to speak up. It's magical for me to think that I'm now part of their club!''

This marks the first cosmetics deal for the 26-year-old actress, who has been the face of Gucci's Premiere fragrance for over a year.

Blake revealed she is picky when it comes to make-up and skincare products and will only use the best on the market.

She added: ''I've always loved very technical formulas that offer a bit extra... A day cream can't simply hydrate my skin for me to be satisfied: it must disguise my pores, preserve my skin's elasticity and make it look fresh and smooth... Essentially, my skin needs to look perfect, like it's been airbrushed.''
