Blake Lively has reportedly given birth to a baby girl and named her Violet.

The 'Savages' star and husband Ryan Reynolds are said to have welcomed their daughter into the world in late December at Westchester Medical Centre near their home in Bedford, New York, according to a Twitter user who claims to work at the hospital.

The tweet has yet to be verified and the 27-year-old actress' publicist, Leslie Sloane, has yet to comment as she claims the blonde beauty cannot be reached.

An insider told the New York Post's Page Six that Blake's parents, Ernie and Elaine Lively, are currently staying with her and Ryan to help them adjust to parenthood.

Another source previously revealed the couple's baby arrived earlier than expected, but both mother and baby are healthy.

The insider said: ''The baby came early but everyone is happy and healthy. The Bedford house is all prepared. They're going to stay up there for the baby's first days.''

After unveiling her pregnancy in October, the former 'Gossip Girl' star, who married her 'Green Lantern' co-star, 38, in September 2012, admitted that she always wanted to be a mother.

She said at the time: ''It's something that I've always wanted ever since I was a little girl. I never knew what I wanted to do for a living but I knew I wanted to have a lot of kids because I had come from a big family, so it was always important to me. So it's just the excitement of that finally being here.''
