Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are ready to have a baby.

The 26-year-old actress initially planned to hold off starting a family with her husband, whom she married in 2012, because she wanted to focus on her career, but has now decided becoming a mother is more important to her.

A source said: ''Her baby hormones are going crazy.''

The insider added to OK! magazine: ''Blake grew up in a big family, so she wants more than one [baby]. Blake wants lot of kids, and she's hoping their first baby is a girl.''

Ryan, 37, is completely on board and is looking forward to the therapeutic effects he believes fatherhood will have.

He said previously: ''I think you do a lot of personal healing when you're parenting a child. I mean, it's a difficult job. We all know it's one of the hardest jobs in the world.

''So, I think you could kind of help heal some of the past stuff from your childhood as well as, you know, that's the gift that keeps on giving, having children. That's an amazing experience.''

Meanwhile, the the hunky actor is keen to have a big family with his stunning wife, but hopes they will have at least one baby girl among their brood.

He said: ''I'm terrified that I'm genetically predisposed to only having boys. That's frightening. By the time I was 10 years old, and I'm not exaggerating, I knew how to patch drywall. There's nothing my brothers and I didn't put a hole in. That's something I'm not looking forward to.''
