Fans of Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne are campaigning for a Walk Of Fame in his birthplace of Birmingham, England.

The hardcore Black Sabbath followers want their own local version of Hollywood Boulevard to honour the city's famous son on Broad Street, in the heart of the industrial city.

Previous madcap ventures arranged by the fans have included a soccer team - the Ozzy Powered Football Club - who play in the name of their rock 'n' roll hero.

Organisers GARY FISHER and GARRY RAYBOLD have already won the support of the city's mayor for the starry project, and have set up an online petition pledging support.

Raybold says, "When we set up the team, we wanted to get an honour for Ozzy. He is a member of one of the biggest rock groups in the world and is from Birmingham.

"Then I started thinking of the stars on Broad Street. It would be great for Birmingham. Each year we could have a different comedian, or music star or sportsman - we have enough of them and nothing is ever done to mark them."
