Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne became so sick of being passed over for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, he had asked to be taken off the list. And the hellraising frontman, who was honoured at the 21st induction ceremony in New York City last night (13MAR06), is convinced giving up on the award prompted organisers to finally recognise the PARANOID rockers' achievements. He said, "Holding the award is better than holding my d**k! "No, but it's an honour, I'm joking. We've been put in (for the induction) seven times and at the end of it I thought, 'They're never going to do it.' "Literally every year we were on the list but we weren't getting voted (for) and you get disappointed you know. "There was a point where I told them, 'Don't bother putting our name in.' We'd been up and down the ladder so many times we went through the emotion of, 'Oh I'm gonna get the award for Lifetime Achievement,' and it never happened so I saved us the agony and said, 'Don't put us on the list.' "Lo and behold, after 35 years of being in the game we got one. "It's an achievement and I'm really proud about it. I'm happy we got one.
