Black Eyed Peas star APL.DE.AP is drumming up support from fans to raise funds for those left homeless by floods in the Philippines.
The rapper, who is of Filipino ancestry, has been left devastated by the images of desperate citizens whose lives were ravaged by Typhoon Ketsana earlier this month (Sep09).
At least 140 people have been confirmed dead in the natural disaster, which has caused more than £30 million (£20 million) in damage.
And the star is hoping to raise money to help those who need aid through donations from the Boom Boom Pow's fans.
In a statement, he writes, "My heart is broken to see so many of my Filipino brothers and sisters hurt by this disaster.
"We must all bond together and move forward to restore the city we hold dear. I'm asking the global community for their support and donations to assist the thousands of Filipinos affected by this tragedy."
