HOOKAH BROWN - the group formed last year (03) by Black Crowes guitarist RICH ROBINSON - has broken up.

The band had played a handful of shows around north-eastern America and was in the process of recording its debut album when the split was announced.

A message from Robinson on the band's website reads, "Due to some personal and business issues that we were unable to overcome, Hookah Brown is no more.

"I thought we were becoming a really good band, but sometimes life gets in the way of people being able to make music together. I appreciate all the love and support that we received from you over the past year, and I hope to see you soon."

Besides Robinson, the band included drummer BILL DOBROW, vocalist JOHN HOGG of the band MOKE and bassist FIONN O'LOCHLAINN.
