Eccentric pop star Bjork upset bosses of a trendy New York bar when she wrongfully accused them of stealing her MP3 player.

The Icelandic singer spent the night partying at BRITE in Manhattan last week (ends23APR04) but neglected to pick up her jacket as she left the venue.

Convinced that Brite chiefs were lying to her when they insisted her iPod was not in her coat pocket, the panicked OH SO QUIET star demanded the bar return the item after she accused them of stealing it.

Owner JOHN LIBONATI tells American website PAGE SIX, "She thought her iPod was in the jacket, and her people rang us four times over the next three days asking for it. They thought we'd stolen it."

However, representatives for Bjork called back to apologise four days later - she discovered her MP3 player in her car.
