British rocker Billy Idol considers himself a trend-setter, despite having just re-emerged from a 10 year break away from the music industry.
The GENERATION X star was intrigued by the different musical genres that became fashionable during his prolonged sabbatical, which he spent "regenerating. Planning ahead. Doing sod all, basically".
But the pop punk, whose new album DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND recently hit shelves, never felt he had to conform to any passing phases, preferring to stick to the style which originally made him a transatlantic star.
He says, "In the time I was away, so many musical movements came and went.
"But I've never been interested in chasing fashion. I've always thought of myself as more of a leader than a chaser."12/04/2005 02:33
