Billy Elliot - The Musical, based on the 2000 film starring Jamie Bell as an aspiring ballet dancer, premiered at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London in 2005.

The West End stage show, which has racked up more than 4,600 performances, will close on 9 April (16) and begin touring the U.K. and Ireland in February (16).

Veteran singer Sir Elton John, who wrote the music for the show, says, "Billy Elliot has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my entire life... Each time I've revisited the show I have been moved by Billy's heart-warming story and his determination to achieve his dreams... I am so delighted that new audiences around the country will now have the opportunity to experience this extraordinary piece of work."

Billy Elliot - The Musical opened on Broadway in 2008 and landed 15 Tony Awards. It closed in 2012.
