SUGABABE MUTYA BUENA has denied the band are on the point of splitting, following reports she's recorded her first solo project.

It was revealed yesterday (13AUG03) the singer had recorded a duet with Billy Crawford for the soundtrack of new film THE EXORCIST IV: THE BEGINNING, which - following news their British tour had been cancelled, their new album is postponed until next April (04) and repeated reports the all-girl trio were ravaged with in-fighting - was taken to be further evidence the band would split soon.

However, Buena has vehemently denied the ROUND ROUND stars will soon go their separate ways, claiming Heidi Range, who was recruited last year (02), is not "picked on" by her and original bandmate Keisha Buchanan, despite the latter being quoted on Sunday (10AUG03) as saying there had been "fierce arguments" because the new girl had been "copying" them.

The 18-year-old says, "The funny thing is my mum rang me up and said we were in the newspaper, and I was like, 'What do you mean?' and she was like, 'You didn't tell me you were splitting up?"

"I said 'Well, I'm in the group, I should know whether we're splitting up or not. That's like a load of rubbish, to tell you the truth.'"

"We don't pick on Heidi. Heidi's a lovely girl. Other than that, nothing else is to be said."
