Rocker Billy Bragg has donated six of his guitars to help rehabilitate inmates at prisons across Britain.
The singer/songwriter launched the Jail Guitar Doors initiative, which donates instruments to prisons, in 2007 to mark the fifth anniversary of the death of The Clash star Joe Strummer.
Staff with a musical background have been giving inmates lessons to help them discover a new hobby and turn their lives around.
Bragg's guitars have been handed to the tough Saughton jail in Scotland, and he is planning to play a gig for prisoners there later this year (10).
A spokesman for the Scottish Prison Service says, "It encourages prisoners to start to learn something and improve themselves, which also improves their self-esteem."
