The 44-year-old rocker compared the real estate billionaire, who is running against Hillary Clinton to be named U.S. President, to Adolf Hitler.
He blamed the alarming rise of the controversial Republican candidate on white voters who don't even know why, or what, they are voting for.
"That’s the problem right there. There’s this white nationalism that’s been brewing under the radar for a long time. But now (Trump’s) been able to cause people to lash out and blame minorities and it’s really confusing. I mean, blatant misogyny going on at the same time," Billie Joe told NME magazine.
The singer admitted to having family members in Oklahoma who are voting for Trump, but said he was baffled as to why they were voting for a politician who had no policies.
"I’ve got family members from Oklahoma that are big Trump supporters. And there’s no clear answer on why they’re supporting him because he doesn’t even have any policies," he said.
"How can you have an opinion about who you want for the Leader of the Free World when the guy running doesn’t have answers to any questions? Except for a f***ing wall! That’s never going to happen, give me a break. You know, dude, I just think it’s been mass manipulation," Billie Joe concluded, referencing Trump's plan to build a wall at the Mexican border to keep out immigrants.
Voicing his support for Democratic candidate Clinton, the rocker said he was amazed by the attempts of some U.S. media outlets to try and discredit her with outlandish claims.
"Your grandparents have been hijacked by Fox News (who are) getting their information from the National Enquirer (and) tabloids that are saying, ‘Hillary Clinton adopted an alien baby’. I’m not kidding you. Like, an alien from outer space! They’re grasping at straws to do anything to destroy her," he said.
