The claims against the outspoken Fox News anchor were reportedly made during a closed hearing at Nassau County Supreme Court in New York late last month (Apr15), when a court-appointed forensic examiner testified about O'Reilly's daughter with Maureen MCPhilmy, after the teen "claimed to have witnessed her father dragging MCPhilmy down a staircase by her neck", according to Gawker.com.

The incident is said to have taken place in 2010, the same year O'Reilly and MCPhilmy separated following 14 years of marriage.

O'Reilly, 65, has slammed the accusations in a statement released via his lawyer, Fred Newman, to People.com, which reads: "All allegations against me in these circumstances are 100 per cent false. I am going to respect the court-mandated confidentiality put in place to protect my children and will not comment any further."

O'Reilly and MCPhilmy divorced in 2011 and MCPhilmy has since been granted custody of their two children after a bitter three-year battle.
