Bill Murray chastised a crew member on the set of movie Broken Flowers, when the technician asked him to extinguish a fire that was keeping a group of young actors warm.

Outspoken Murray was left outraged that a group of children were expected to sit for hours in freezing conditions without warmth.

But his kind-hearted bid to warm the kids up was not well received, and the situation exploded into a blazing row.

Murray says, "We were shooting in a rental house during Broken Flowers. We had a lot of kids in the scene that day and the house was freezing cold.

"I walked in and said, 'What the hell's going on here?' They said, 'The heat's off.' So I said, 'Well, there's a fireplace,' and I went out to pick up sticks for a fire.

"Then a member of the crew came to me - a very officious, nasty little person - and said, 'Put the fire out, this is not our house.'

"I said, 'Those kids are cold and you make them sit there? Don't you ever, ever f**k with me again!"
