Bill Murray paid crew members to compose lines for his character BOB HARRIS, while filming Lost In Translation.

The actor had problems with some sequences in Sofia Coppola's script, so he turned to technicians and cameramen to help him out.

Bill explains, "I'd say $50 or $100, depending how serious it was - 'What's supposed to be said here?' Everyone would throw in an idea and somebody always got it.

"It made it like a game and there was a cash payoff. They may not get a screenwriting credit, but it makes them feel a bit more creative."
